God invites everyone to be great in His kingdom. But we must define greatness according to what the Scriptures say success looks like. God put within each of us a longing to be great and successful in life.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul highlighted three important dimensions in our relationship with Jesus: being seated with Christ in heavenly places, walking worthy, and standing firm.

Philippians 1:9-11 provides us with a concise overview of the nature of Christianity. Paul prayed for three things to increase in their lives—love, knowledge, and discernment. Next, he described the result—our lives are filled with the fruits of righteousness.

In Romans 5:1-11, Paul gives us an encouraging perspective that dismantles common spiritual idealism about what it means to love God with all of our heart. Our small and weak efforts to love God move His heart and are evidences of the glory of God in our life right now. Our love is real even when it is weak.

We are called to be workers of justice and lovers of mercy with a spirit of humility. Doing justice speaks of doing works that meet the practical needs of people including caring for the lonely, feeding the poor, helping the needy, orphans, widows, the homeless, etc.
