Fasting and prayer releases supernatural events that are on the heart of God. As the early church leaders came together in prayer and fasting, the Holy Spirit told them what to do.

As the early Church grew, the need for wise leaders filled with the Spirit became apparent. In part 5 of our Book of Acts series, we’ll talk about the biblical requirements for godly leadership, what type of Philip declared in the Gospel, as well as the work of angels in Philip’s ministry.

In Acts 5, we see that the manifest power of the Holy Spirit working in and through the Apostles became the norm. The account of Ananias and Sapphira lying to the Holy Spirit brought a sense of soberness and fear of The Lord in the people—knowing that God knows about all of our dealings.

At the disciples proclamation of the Gospel in the book of Acts, it brought either revival or riot. Today, when the Holy Spirit works in the life of the believer, their response either brings obedient new life or resistant upheaval.

Biblical history teaches us that there are moments in history when God divinely interacts with humanity in a season of time. The outcome of those moments is always affected by the willingness of the people to seize and hold onto God’s moment.
