Philippians 1:9-11 provides us with a concise overview of the nature of Christianity. Paul prayed for three things to increase in their lives—love, knowledge, and discernment. Next, he described the result—our lives are filled with the fruits of righteousness.
Showing God’s Love in Practical Ways
We are called to be workers of justice and lovers of mercy with a spirit of humility. Doing justice speaks of doing works that meet the practical needs of people including caring for the lonely, feeding the poor, helping the needy, orphans, widows, the homeless, etc.
