What piano courses do you offer?
Beginner Piano Course on Mondays from 6:00 – 6:45pm.
What is this Beginner Piano Course?
Our Beginner Piano Course is a class intended for those who have no knowledge of how to play piano. You will quickly acquire basic knowledge of major chords, minor chords, scales, use of the pedal, and much more. By the end of the class, you will be playing complete songs with ease.
Where is the course located?
This course will be taught inside of the Prayer Room, which is located within Christian Heritage Church. The address is 2820 Sharer Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
When is each lesson and how long are they?
Each lesson is 45 minutes. The specific dates will be outlined in the curriculum that will be handed out at the beginning of course.
Do I have to be part of the missions base to apply?
This course is open to the public, so anyone can apply! You do not have to be part of our missions base. Also, if you are interested in serving on a worship team in the future, this course would be perfect for you.
Is there an age limit?
You must be at least 12 years old.
Is this course for beginners?
Beginner Piano Course is aimed at beginner level students or those who have no prior experience on the piano.
What if I am an experienced piano player?
Experienced piano players will only benefit from these courses as a review. They are aimed at teaching inexperienced and new piano players.
Will I learn music theory?
Yes. We will be teaching music theory from our original curriculum that does not require reading sheet music.
What does it mean that they are taught in a classroom setting?
This curriculum will be taught to multiple students at once. First the lesson will be presented and demonstrated from several pianos in the room. Then there will be a time of individual questions and application. All of the students will be taken through the same lessons. Each student will get practice time on the pianos and individual hands-on time with instructors during each class.
What are some benefits to taking piano classes in a group?
Each semester, our students have become a strong group of friends that encourage each other to keep growing both in their piano playing and their love for Jesus. Students often practice together outside of class and form lasting friendships! Others have registered with their friends so that they can learn together. Students are always motivated to practice each lesson because they are encouraged by their friends in the class to improve and be diligent.
What should I bring?
We encourage our students to bring a notebook and pencil. Other materials will be provided and are included in the cost of this course.
Will Childcare be provided?
No, childcare will not be provided. Only registered students can attend the class. Children under 12 may not attend this course at any time.
How much do these courses cost?
The cost of this course is $15 per class and a one-time $20 materials fee. A non-refundable deposit of $45 is required by January 21st
for course registry. The remainder of the cost will be charged as four separate payments during the 15-week course.
How do I register?
First you must fill out a form that will express your interest in taking the course by clicking the button above. Registration will only be completed when you pay your nonrefundable deposit of $45. At that time, your spot in the course will be reserved. This deposit is due by January 21st. A PayPal link will allow you to pay your deposit online easily, or you can send cash or a check (payable to “Karina Olsen” with “Piano” in the memo line) to
